God Of War
God Of War has become synonymous with the Sony PlayStation and specially the PSP. If you own a PlayStation or PSP and don't own God of War, no one will believe you own a PlayStation. So you'd better get your hands on this one. Alternatively, if you don't own a PlayStation, buy one so you can play God Of War. This is seriously too good to miss.

God Of War is a series of action adventure games, God Of War itself being the first to be released in the series. The game is available for PlayStation 2 and 3 while God of War: Chains of Olympus is available for the PSP. Based on Greek mythology it presents a interesting storyline involving Kratos a Spartan warrior with a troubled past, who becomes a slave and later ascends to become a God and then something else. But it is not the storyline that will grip you in God Of War, it is Kratos and his Blades Of Chaos which he appears to swirl with unbelievable strength and dexterity that make this game so amazing. It is the amazing graphics, the fantastic and fluid control provided by the joystick, the smooth layout of the game world and the sheer strength the player feels as he battles his way forward solving clever puzzles and slaying well matched enemies that make this game unique and breathtaking.
If you ever see someone reasonably skilled playing God Of War believe me you will stop and stare at the screen and find your lower jaw has dropped slightly. That is God Of War for you.
As a player you will find that the game puts immense strength into your hands right from the start. A press of a button makes Kratos unleash a flash from his Blades of Chaos. As you proceed through the game you learn how pressing combinations of buttons (called 'combos' by seasoned players) allow Kratos to use even more dramatic and powerful attacks against his foes. But God Of War is not simply a hack and slash game. There is a strong element of adventure and the story is told as you go on through cut-scenes. Moving from one location to next involves solving puzzles which are complex and varied. The layout of the game world prevents you from going around in circles or getting lost. Directions are usually clear so you have a good sense of where you are headed.
No don't spend time watching the videos. Buy this game. Play it. At least the first two parts of the series. You won't know what your PlayStation (or PSP) is capable of until you've played this.
Note: The most recent release, God Of War 3 presents a level of blood and gore that can seriously upset you. You have been warned.
